Statements posted on a company's Facebook "fan" and Twitter pages by third parties were held to be publications by the company. As a result, the company was reprimanded for posts made by customers, which had breached the Trade Practices Act and were deemed misleading and deceptive to consumers. |

Avon is the company for women, “and a few good men”, as Bob Bettiga of Corpus Christi, Texas, likes to add. “Bob the Avon Guy”, as he calls himself, loves selling Avon – and he is good at it, too, as the many corporate awards he has won show. A top salesman, he was recently honoured as the oldest male company representative. "I love helping people, and Avon lets me do that," said the 82-year-old former financial planner. "Helping others is my motivation." Helping someone achieve outer beauty is satisfying, but the thrill comes when enriching people's lives, he said. He loves helping people gain status by selling Avon. |
