ALMOST one-third of small business owners operate their companies from their home, new research has revealed. An analysis of membership by the Federation of Small Businesses Scotland showed that 32 per cent run their business from home, while 70 per cent say they spend more than 46 hours a week working in their companies. Only a fifth work between 34 and 45 hours per week.

The US network-marketing-company Amway has opened a new shopping centre Baikalsky with the area of 1,200 square metres in Irkutsk (Siberia). Investment in the project amounted to over RUR 14mn (US$ 0.6mn EUR 0.38mn).

The company Mary Kay is presenting new fragrances under the trademark Mary Kay.

Among novelties are the fragrances Simply Cotton, Exotic Passionfruit, Warm Amber, and Sparkling Honeysuckle.

Netcoo starts going international. Today the Netcoo group of companies started the official pre-launch of the English-language glossy print edition for Scandinavia and UK. Effective today the prototype with many interesting articles and excerpts is available free of charge for download. Among other things, a report about the Berlin based direct selling company Wellstar and its innovative 3D Webstar coaching program. On 01.02.2009 Netcoo will start with the printed print version. Right now more countries in the Americas, Asia and Eastern Europe are in preparation.
